Funeral & Memorial Service
Live Streaming — Alberta

Allow family members anywhere in the world to attend and pay their respects — privately, with dignity. BOMCAS Media provides compassionate, discreet funeral and memorial service live streaming across Alberta, handled with the utmost sensitivity by an experienced, professional crew.

Bringing Loved Ones Together Across Distance

Losing someone is one of life's most profound experiences. The funeral or memorial service is an important gathering — a time for family and friends to come together, to remember, to grieve, and to honour a life that mattered. Yet in our modern world, family members are often scattered across provinces, countries, and continents. Travel may be impossible due to distance, expense, health, or the simply the short notice that a sudden loss inevitably brings.

Funeral live streaming allows those who cannot be physically present to still attend, witness, and participate in a loved one's final farewell. It transforms an isolated experience of grief into a shared one — no matter where family members are located. A son watching from a work posting overseas. A sister in a hospital bed who cannot travel. Elderly relatives who are unable to make the journey. Grandchildren on the other side of the country. All of them can be present for the service, see the tribute, hear the eulogies, and share in the communal act of saying goodbye.

BOMCAS Media provides funeral and memorial service live streaming across Alberta with a sensitivity and professionalism that honours the gravity of the occasion. We are not simply technical operators — we understand the emotional weight of the events we stream and approach every service with the reverence and care it deserves.

Our Funeral Livestreaming Service — What We Provide

Discreet, Professional Setup

Our operators arrive at the venue — funeral home chapel, church, community hall, or outdoor memorial site — well before the service begins. We set up our equipment quietly and unobtrusively, positioning cameras to capture the service clearly without intruding on the space or drawing attention. We dress in dark, conservative formal attire appropriate for a funeral service.

Our camera equipment is compact and does not require large, intrusive rigging or lighting setups that would disturb the solemnity of the service. We work with existing venue lighting and adjust our equipment settings to ensure a clear, respectful image regardless of the room conditions.

Complete Private Streaming Setup

Privacy is non-negotiable for funeral services. We configure your stream on a private, password-protected or unlisted platform so that only the family members you choose can access it. Options include:

  • YouTube (Unlisted) — accessible only via direct link; does not appear in public search or YouTube's discovery algorithms
  • Vimeo (Private) — password-protected stream; particularly robust privacy controls
  • Custom Private Streaming Platform — if the funeral home has a preferred platform, we can configure our encoder to stream to their system
  • Facebook (Private Group) — stream to a closed family group visible only to approved members

We provide you with the viewing link and access instructions in a format that's easy to forward to family members. We can also create a simple information sheet explaining how remote attendees access the stream on different devices.

Professional Audio Capture

Audio clarity is critical at a funeral service. Family members watching remotely need to hear every eulogy, every prayer, every song, and every word spoken in tribute. Poor audio is deeply distressing — it robs remote viewers of the connection they need at this difficult time.

We capture audio professionally using wireless microphones on the officiant and, where appropriate, a wireless handheld or podium microphone for those delivering eulogies. We also capture ambient room audio to convey the full atmosphere of the service — the music, the congregation's responses, and the natural acoustics of the space. Our audio technician monitors levels throughout the service to ensure clarity is maintained.

Full HD Recording Delivery

Every funeral livestream includes a permanent, full HD recording of the service. We deliver the recording as a downloadable MP4 file within 24–48 hours of the service. This recording belongs to the family and can be cherished indefinitely. Many families use the recording to:

  • Share with family members who missed the service entirely or had connection difficulties during the stream
  • Preserve as a permanent tribute and keepsake
  • Revisit in the weeks and months following a loss as part of the grieving process
  • Extract audio from eulogies to keep as audio memories
  • Include in future tribute videos or family memorial projects

Graveside & Outdoor Committal Services

Many funerals include a graveside committal service following the chapel service. We provide streaming for both components — either as a seamlessly continued single stream or as two separate broadcasts. Graveside services present technical challenges (no venue Wi-Fi, outdoor lighting variability, weather) that our team handles with purpose-built cellular bonding equipment and professional outdoor camera setups.

Our cellular bonding encoders aggregate multiple mobile data connections (from different carriers) to create a stable, high-bandwidth connection wherever the service takes place. Rural Alberta cemetery locations are well within our capability to serve.

Why Professional Funeral Livestreaming Matters

In the immediate aftermath of a death, family members are overwhelmed with grief, logistics, and decision-making. The last thing anyone should be dealing with is a technical livestream failure — a dropped connection, poor image quality, inaudible audio, or a stream that simply doesn't work.

Amateur solutions — a smartphone propped on a chair, a family member trying to manage a tablet while grieving — almost always fall short. The resulting experience for remote viewers is frustrating and disappointing at a moment when connection and presence are most needed.

Professional funeral live streaming from BOMCAS Media eliminates this risk. We bring dedicated broadcast equipment, experienced operators, redundant internet solutions, and a meticulous approach to setup and testing. Our systems are designed to work reliably every time, in any venue, under any conditions. Your family's remote attendees will have an experience that honours the significance of the occasion.

Types of Services We Livestream

BOMCAS Media provides live streaming for all types of funeral and memorial services:

Traditional Funeral Services

Full funeral services in funeral home chapels, churches, and community halls — including open casket viewing periods, eulogies, religious ceremonies, musical tributes, and committal prayers. We capture the full service from start to finish with professional multi-camera coverage (where the venue permits) and clear audio of all spoken tributes.

Celebration of Life Services

Celebration of life events tend to be less formal, more personal, and often held in non-traditional venues such as community centres, outdoor spaces, private properties, or reception halls. Our flexible equipment setup accommodates any venue type, and our crew's ability to blend into informal environments ensures the event atmosphere remains warm and natural rather than clinical or overly produced.

Church Funeral Masses & Religious Ceremonies

We have extensive experience livestreaming Catholic funeral masses, Protestant funeral services, Ukrainian Orthodox and Greek Orthodox ceremonies, Muslim Janazah services, Jewish memorial services, and a variety of other religious and cultural funeral traditions across Alberta. We respect the rituals and protocols of each tradition and work with religious leaders and venue staff to ensure our presence is appropriate and non-disruptive.

Veterans & Military Honours Services

Military funerals and veteran tribute ceremonies carry particular significance and often include specific protocols around filming and respect. We approach these services with full understanding of military funeral traditions and ensure the dignity of the ceremony is fully preserved in our coverage.

Indigenous Ceremony & Cultural Traditions

We are respectful and experienced working with Indigenous communities across Alberta and understand that different cultures have specific protocols around recording and broadcasting ceremonies. We always defer to community elders and leadership on what is appropriate to capture and share, and will only livestream elements of a service that have been explicitly approved.

Our Approach to Sensitivity and Discretion

BOMCAS Media's funeral live streaming operators are trained not only in technical production but in the art of working with grieving families and communities. We understand that the people around us during a funeral service are in pain. Every decision we make — from where we position our camera to how we move through the space — is made with consideration for the emotional environment.

We never speak unless spoken to during the service. We don't ask for directions in ways that disrupt proceedings. We have discussed every detail of the setup in advance so there are no questions to ask on the day. We are professional, quiet, and invisible — present to serve, not to impose.

After the service, we communicate directly with the family contact we have established to deliver the recording and address any follow-up needs. We do not send invoices or follow up with requests during the immediate days of grief unless contacted first.

Funeral Home Partnerships

BOMCAS Media actively partners with funeral homes across Alberta to provide livestreaming as a service their clients can access. If you are a funeral home director or manager, we invite you to establish a referral or partnership arrangement with us.

We offer:

  • Preferred pricing for funeral home partner referrals
  • Priority availability for partner funeral home bookings
  • Professional service that enhances your establishment's reputation
  • Seamless coordination with your funeral directors and venue staff
  • Branded stream pages with your funeral home's identity if preferred
  • Reliable, compassionate service your clients will appreciate and remember

Contact us to discuss a partnership that works for your funeral home and the families you serve.

Urgent Funeral Livestream Bookings

Death does not give advance notice. Funeral services are typically arranged within days of a loss. We understand this and maintain crew availability to respond to urgent funeral streaming requests with as little as 24–48 hours of notice. While we always prefer more planning time to ensure optimal setup, we will not turn away a family in need due to short notice when we have crew available.

For urgent bookings, please call us directly at 780-667-5250. We respond to phone calls immediately during business hours and monitor messages outside of business hours for urgent funeral streaming inquiries.
